Education

University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign BS Specialized Chemistry, Minor Molecular and Cellular Biology GPA - 3.7 Graduated 2012 When I was a student at UIUC I was highly immersed in anything scientific I could be a part of. I was a founder of the school Undergraduate Neuroscience Society and helped guide other undergraduates towards different potential research paths that the university offered. I had worked as a research assistant in three different labs (neuroanalytical chemistry, biochemistry, cognitive neuroscience) and have a well rounded experience because of this. Recently I have started worked as an Associate Scientist for Abbott where my past research experience while I was in school is paying off.

Experience

Previous Chem 101 TA at University of Illinois I"m very confident in my abilities to explain complex ideas to others. When teaching, I focus on identifying where the gaps in understanding are and help build a useful framework so big problems don't seem as scary. Anyone can read an answer from a book, but I focus on helping build problem solving skills that are ultimately much more valuable. Pure memorization is not what helps people do well in school and get good jobs now, it's all about how you dissect and reason through a problem. Relevant coursework: Math 220, 231. 241 (calculus I, II, III) Chem 202, 203, 204, 205 (advanced intro chemistry & associated labs) Chem 236, 436 (organic chemistry I & II for chemistry majors) MCB 150, 250, 251, 252, 253, 354 (core MCB courses including biochemistry) Math 415 (applied linear algebra) Chem 312 (inorganic chemistry) I've taken a host of other courses as well. Awards 2012 Chemistry Department Summer Research Award Current Job: Associate Scientist at Abbott. I also speak Polish.
